2. Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology
Medical Laboratory Technology programme at the Institution uses multifaceted approaches in its operation and is departmentalised into four main course units: Microbiology, Clinical Chemistry, Haematology and Histotechnology. Depending on the state of test, sample for analysis range from body fluids, cells, tissues, metabolic waste products among others. The equipment used for the tests comes from simple test kits to complex computer based automated machines to generate reliable result for patient care.
Core subjects and minimum grades: Credits (WASSCE A1-C6|SSSCE A-D) in three (3) subjects, English, Mathematics and Integrated Science. Elective subjects and minimum grades: Credits (WASSCE A1-C6|SSSCE A-D) in three (3) science elective subjects (Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry) WASSCE: An aggregate score of Thirty Six (36) or better. SSSCE: An aggregate score of Twenty Four (24) or better.
Applicants with Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from any recognized Institution can apply and would start from Level 200.
